Heroes will be recognized as those who have practiced or influenced the field of medicine by and for underserved communities for at least ten years past their academic and/or practical training. Their current work may be in the clinical field, education, government, business, or in other industry and whose influence and reconnition have been regional and national in scope; who are seen as having created an environment for medical students to flourish, for research to expend, and/or who may have transformed healthcare access and deliver for the underserved.
